Depression Can be a debilitating condition, affecting every moment of your everyday life. Jobs, relationships, health and more can all be affected and it can often lead to other illnesses such as anxiety, alcoholism, and more. Health professionals often use the terms depressive illness or clinical depression to describe it. Whatever it's name, Depression can be one of the most severe problems encountered during your lifetime.
During bouts of Depression , you may have days, weeks, or even months of the most extreme sadness, and its these feelings that can take over your everyday routine of work, family, or your everday activities. Even getting the motivation for getting out of bed can be difficult. Once these feelings get a grip on your life, they can spiral out of control. Depression is however surprisingly common, with around 1 in 10 people experiencing it at some point in their life. However, its only when this feeling becomes prolonged and unnatural in its behaviour, that people begin to realise they have a problem. Even then, many do nothing about it, and go undiagnosed as they try to cope with the stresses of life, further spiralling down into deeper or longer bouts of depression.
Many sufferers also believe that depression is not a real illness and admitting it is a form of weakness or admission of failure, whereas in reality the opposite is actually true. Recognising and admitting depression, and seeking help for its effects, is something which only a relatively small number of people are able to achieve. Don't be one of the ones who lets depression take over, and call me now for a friendly and informal chat about how the right type of Depression Counselling can help turn your life around.
